Removing front grill for Bel Radar install

I have recently purched a Integrated Radar/LAser blocking unit from Bel. It has 2 laser blockers and one radar detector that need to be mounted under the hood around the liscense plate with a clear view of the road.

Has anyone removed the front grill? or does anyone have the instructions from a shop manual on how to do so?

Thanks
Eddie

Indeed, it's rather frustrating that there's loads of room behind the grill, but it's very difficult to get behind it! To remove the grill, you need to remove the entire bumper (or so says the shop manual). While that isn't as complicated as it sounds, it is somewhat involved and would very likely be difficult to get it back on without some sort of problem.

I recently installed my Whistler remote radar detector behind the grill and was able to do it by going from underneath the front of the car and without removing anything other than the bulkhead cover (the plastic piece on top between the radiator and the grill). I was able to reach underneath and tie-wrap the remote detector to one of the diagonal supports after dropping the detector and cable in from above.

The plastic grill won't block the radar, so exact placement isn't critical (and there's plenty of room), but for laser detectors, you'll need to be sure that they can see the road ahead. Of course, be careful to keep as much space in front of the radiator (or is that the a/c condensor) as possible.
