Remote Start Alarm on 6MT TL!!! MD/DC/VA AREA!

Does anyone know someone that will install a remote start/alarm on my 6MT??? I have an alarm already, I just need someone to do it. Or, I can buy it there. HEEELLLPPPP!!!! Winter is here!!!

Anywhere in the MD/DC/VA area please! Leave name of company and number if you know it. Also, where it is of course!

Circuit CIty will do it. I have had many electronics wired in by them. despite popular belief you do NOT have to buy it from them to get them to install it. they charge about $150 for a remote start / keyless / alarm.

Just a warning, the reason I have not done this is that I could not find a way to retain the memory linkings with anew alarm remote.

good luck if you use circuit city or best buy. they will destroy your car. you are better off doing it yourself or go into the phone book and find a audio store

Be careful, I valet parked my car and the driver left it in gear. I remote started and it DROVE into the car across the street. That was approximately 50 feet. You would think it would stall, but it didn't, it just accelerated in first gear. Luckily no one was in its way and got hurt.

of course you can, all you need to do is tie the clutch bypass switch wires together, which will make the car think the clutch is pressed down.

Yeah, I know about the wild things that can happen, but I don't even need driver #2 remote because nobody drives my car but me! Thanks for weighing in on the bad points fellas, but I really need to know someone that WILL install it. Circuit City in fact, already said no because of liability issues. So did Best Buy. I need someone to do it who knows what they are doing - which automatically excludes me! LOL!

Anybody know someone who will install in a MANUAL tranny vehicle? Not someone who just knows how, but WILL.

I went to Circuit City and installed a Python 881XP two way. They wouldn't do the remote start, but I bribed the kid with an extra $50 and he did it. Worth a shot.

Is your car automatic or manual? I need someone that will do manual for me. What brand alarm was that they used on your car? I will call them tomorrow. Thanks Tony for the hook-up!

Mariah: I will call them tomorrow. Thanks!

I'm the ONLY person that will drive my car. My gf doesn't drive a stick, and I put my car in valet mode for service even when I had an automatic to avoid alarm problems. So I am going to get the Viper 791xv installed on this car as well. (if it can be installed on an MT)

I agree with the manual and remote start - I also had a remote start in an older car that was stick and not designed for it. BAD idea. Whoever you get to do this will have to be "on the side" if it's not designed for a stick car, and anyone in their RIGHT mind wouldn't do it because of liability.

I think I'm gonna go with the Compustar as it is designed to work with MT. Waiting for the one that will drop next month.

That is not the way to do it. Bad idea. Furthermore, the car's ECM thinks the clutch is depressed at all times and can cause drivability issues. There are ways to put remote start on a MT logically and safely. That isn't one of them. If nothing else, you could build and wire a switch that is only engaged with the car in neutral. That would do it.

the only bad thing this would cause it not letting the cruise control work, otherwise leave the car in neutral everytime you park it, and there won't be any issues, at least thats how it was in 2003 before drive by wire was used, i guess it could cause an issue.

actually, it's just a plug that needs to be un-plugged.. doesn't cause any problems, especially with cruise control... don't know where that idea came from

I guess all of that would be a good point of reference if I actually knew anything about installing an alarm - BUT I DON'T!So, I gotta get somebody who does.
