Rear Speaker level inputs and DVD Audio 5.1?
2004 3G TL - non navi
After realizing that the factory deck-mounted sub isn't quite cutting it, I've decided that I will add a sub/amp in the trunk. I was planning on splicing into the rear speaker wires for the audio input. I believe that this will work just fine when I'm using stereo input (MP3, CD etc), however I've noticed that some of the DVDA music I have utilizes the rear speakers as surrounds -- sometimes on sometimes not.
Has anyone had a problem with using rear speaker level inputs while playing DVD Audio? Should I just use the speaker level input from the factory sub instead? (I plan on just leaving it in the deck).
Note: most of my music is from stereo MP3 aux I installed, so it's normally not a problem. Just wondering about the 5.1 stuff.

Why would you use the rear speaker channel for a sub? Haven't done a sub yet in my 08 but in my older TLs 02 and 99, i just unplugged the factory sub connector, and plugged it in a Line Out Converter then to my aftermarket amp, done deal. If you take any other channel, you will get whatever audio signal that was intended for it.

Use sub channel so you still have sub control.

Thanks. Yeah, I was concerned about using the sub channel as opposed to the rears because I thought the RCA needed two channels.
Nope. One works fine on this amp.
I tapped the sub wire, but left the stock sub in, but unplugged. I prefer the sound without the deck rattling.
