Rear Defog Switch Operation?

Does anyone know if the rear window defog switch is a momentary contact switch? I assume it is, sending a momentary + to the display panel control unit, which in turns sends a signal via the bus to the micu to control the defog relay. The reason I'm asking is that I want to wire a pulsed aux output (via a relay) of the viper 5901 to the D7 wire to turn on the defog just like pushing the switch would. I want to wire it this way so that the defog timer feature and indicator light are fully functional (controlled by the MICU). Check my logic, does it make sense?

Just call http://www.viper.com/ tech support and they will tell you how to do it the correct and way that over time you will not burn out your defroster (which happens if done wrong)
