RCA Audio Cable Question

I have a quick question...inside a normal audio cable, there is another wire which has surrounding copper...which one is the positive and the negative?

I am assuming that the wire enclosed within the cable is the positive and the copper wire that is surrounding that wire is the negative...could someone please confirm/clarify?

Thanks, in advance

Yup, the surrounding wire (also known as the shield) is the negative or ground and the conductor in the middle is the positive or signal.
