Unhappy Range on factory remote on 2005 TL??

I have a 2005 TL and I stupidely went to Acura to get a automatic starter to be installed (a while back) from them since I didn't want a aftermarket one installed by someone else and void the factory warranty. I've noticed the range sucks like hell even just opening my locks or unlocking it. i literally have to get 5-10 feet and then it works (even with the automatic starter is the same thing). I've changed the battery on the remote too and still the same thing.

Both my remotes have this issue not just one!!

Anyone experience this or is this something wrong with the car?

I didn't even know Acura made an OEM remote start for the TL. I'd double check to see what they installed in your car. It's probably an aftermarket that they warranted because they did the install for you.

My wifey has a 2007 Chrysler Sebring (fully loaded) and the range on that is soooooo much better. Acura is supposed to be the luxary line too and the range on remotes sucks.

My experience...

Mine works from about 150 feet. Yes, the range seems to improve if you hold the key fob under your chin... but only an additional 30-50 feet.

To answer your question: Yes, I think something is wrong with yours. Probably in the receiving end of things if your battery is fresh.

I can lock the car in my house 20 feet away. With 2 walls in between.
I have the stock keyless entry.

I'd bring it back and complain.
