Radio won't "boot", Navi Buttons Dead

I've searched through the forum and I'm not seeing anyone report a similar problem. The car is an '06 TL with Navi.

Problem starts with the radio not coming on/"booting" when the card starts. Sometimes it can be convinced to power up by cycling the on/off button a number of times.

After a few car starts, that trick stops working. Navi display is on and tracking position, but all console navi and radio buttons are not responding.

I found I can restore function by pulling the radio fuse, waiting a minute and re-inserting. The system is then OK for some period of time - usually a few weeks.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!
Steve

Have you tried replacing the fuse you are pulling to see if that solves it? It seems that if you are able to pull the fuse and it works for awhile it might be that the fuse is giving out.

No I have not replaced the fuse. It tests good and I've never heard of an intermittent fuse failure - but that doesn't mean it can't happen. Cheap enough to try.

Any other suggestions out there?
