Radio tuning options set to 0 help !

Hey guys, I recently installed my amp and sub by means of using a low level converter. I disconnected my stock sub and am using that feed to the L.O.C.

At times I notice while im either listening to FM / CD disc/ IPOd etc...my tuning options would be set to 0.
Meaning Bass, Treble, center etc.. would show 0.
If I toggle between the modes eventually it seems like it restores itself.

Just last night I was driving home and my sub stopped working. When I got home and pulled into the garage I took a look at my setup and noticed my amp wasnt on. My crossover was on btw. So I was getting power to the components.

Tonight, im going to swap that amp out with another one i have that is less powerful but, at this point i dont care because im driving out to Indianapolis from NY tomorrow night.

I'll get the amp working but my concern is why would the tuning options be set to 0 at times?

Could my L.O.C be causing some feedback issues with the factory amp causing that issue?

Anyone experience this?

You know what I though I was going crazy. I don't have mt sub hooked up yet, but I did notice that the bass and treble settings would readjust themselves on its own. So I'm not crazy, but as far as your amp goes check the remote wire or ground wire, or fuse at the batt. If you hook up the other amp get the same result no power it has to be one of those 3 things. If you hook up the other amp and it works no problem hope you have a warranty.

thanks mattygookes,

Not sure if these two problems are related but, it looks like my amp has failed. I've had this power acoustik amp for YEARS so i guess its time for a new one. It would blow the fuse I have under the hood. Each time I replaced it,. it would pop again.

So I located an old 4 channel p.o.s amp I had in my garage. I plugged that in and its working so far.
Friday I left to indiana, driving from NY. During my trip I would notice my bass would just cut off. When I stopped at a rest area I looked at my amp and crossover and noticed they were on. ( lights were on )
So I turned the car off and back on and PRESTO!. bass has returned.
I suspect its the low level converter I bought. Its not the best but i believe when I raise or keep the volumn leveled it fubars the low level converter. ( I bought a new one which I'll replace when I get back home )

Another thing I have to do is wire a relay for my electronics that are using ignition as a turn on source.

I tapped a fuse in the drivers lower compartment thats switched to ignition.

I have my Radar detector, portable navi, amp,and crossover to it for 12v switch.

btw,..this 4 channel amp was used in my audi without any problems. I did have a better hi to low converter so im assuming that might be the problem.
