Radio Shuts Off By Itself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Radio Shuts Off By Itself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Today I start my car and I press the mode button on my sterring wheel to select my CD changer. On the dash it displays DISC 2 , my navigation screen shows the disclaimer. I press the ok button and the map comes on. Then the top left of the screen it says AUDIO OFF. I'm like ,"wtf just happened." I press on the left volume dail and nothing. I press mode on my steering wheel to go HFL button, and I hear no beeping sound from my speakers, I press the other button to say a command and nothing. I turn the car off and turn it back on and I'm now able to cycle from my cd player to XM and my FM radio plays but when I go back to my cd changer the radio turns off. Again I turn the car off and turn the car back on go to my cd changer to eject a cd and it slowly ejects then again radio cuts off.
What is this? Anyone have an idea why my cd changer will all of a sudden act up? My warranty has expired 3000 miles ago. I'M hoping it is nothing major and won't cost a lot out of pocket.

Well today i went to my Acura dealership Foutain Automall. The service comes to me and says, "The technician noticed you had a amp installed, well that voids all warranty that deals with your electronics in the car, but this time I will oner the warranty but if the cd changer breaks again its not covered."
I just said,"oh really."
Isnt this bull, just something to find to get the warranty voided? In my head i was like how in the hell is an amp suppose to cause the cd changer to act up but all the other parts of radio works fine? The dealership expects people not to install anything in their cars before the warranty expires.

Your correct it is B.S. But so is warrantying something that's out of warranty! I hope you were gracious as they most certainly did not have to do anything unless you were willing to pay.
Like Infamous425 said, they have to prove that the modification caused the problem. I think that would be difficult with the information you gave us. The amp should have little to do with the way the head unit functions (other than volume) unless there is a problem with it or the impedance is wrong and the head unit is smart enough to check or it's causing it to malfunction.
Anyway I hope they fix it under warranty for you. If not it's not going to be cheap.
