Radio Reception

Hey guys,
I've noticed the few times that I have been listening to the radio that I keep getting static and the reception is bad. Is there anything I can check or do to see what the issue could be before taking it to the dealer. TIA!

I had bad reception after getting my car back from the bodyshop. After pulling the rear inner quarter panel off I found that they forgot to plug in the antenna. If you have had any work done in that area you may want to check.

Have you gotten the windows tinted? I think this only affects navi but I may be wrong.

I think I did have my air on and my windows down when I noticed this issue. I will try it with the air off and see if it has any effect.

Yes, I did get my windows tinted but I got the film that shouldn't have effect the GPS, radio etc? I believe it is the LLUMAR ATX film.

I bought the car used a month ago so I'm not sure if any work was done prior to me purchasing it.

The TL's radio sucks. I had an '05 Accord before the TL, and knew exactly when I was getting too far from the tower on my way to work. Now, with the TL-S, the same stations start fading 3-5 miles sooner. It sucks!!! You pay XX amount for a luxury car, and the radio reception is terrible.

Oh well, such is life.

You can pull the driver's side rear quarter panel off where it's got the airbag button. You'll find the module mounted behind there with a wire going to the rear window if I remember right. I did this a few years ago so my memory of it isn't very good. I also remember the rear window defroster not being hooked up as well.

I'm not sure how bad yours is but with the antenna completely unplugged, mine would only pick up a few of the strongest stations locally. Many wouldn't come in at all.
