Radio issues

That's how mine started acting right before it quit completely. The first thing I noticed was it became very picky with what CDs it would play. Sometimes it would not play brand new CDs that were perfect. Later it started freezing up like yours did. Finally only the radio would work. When the CD player went out completely it let out a pop over the subwoofers that was so loud that the people next to me at the red light were looking over. A week later the radio went completely out in the same way.
I don't know exactly what's wrong with yours but after my experience and reading others on here, once the factory unit starts doing weird stuff it usually fails completely pretty quickly. You can always disconnect the battery and reset everything but I doubt it will help. These things are failing all the time. Another member showed me a place that sells brand new OEM units for about $300 shipped which is better than the $1,400 that Acura wants. Mine should arrive on Monday so I can't comment about the actual unit.
