Radio Issues..2005 TL, stops out of nowhere, no sound at all!
I own a 2005 TL w/out navi. I bought it pre-owned 2 yrs ago.
After about 2 months of having it, and setting up the bluetooth/paring it to my cell, I noticed that sporadically the radio would just quit working.
It freezes up, no sound, yet it is still on. Its frozen, you cannot change the chanel, mode or the volume and the car must be restarted to get it back to normal.
I've tried to correlate certain times it may be happeneing, but have not been able to. It really is just a sporadic thing, sometimes once a wk, sometimes not for 2 months.
I've taken it to the Acura dealer and told them about this, they looked at me like I was crazy, and were not able to find a thing wrong with it. Thing is, when it happens, I'm never near my dealer to drive and actually show them (they are an hour away), or they are closed if I am semi-near!
Any ideas what it could be, or any similar experiences? I've sinced disabled the bluetooth on my phone and do not use that feature at all, it has not corrected the problem though.
Thanks in advance..-J

Burning Brakes
I have a 05 w/out navi too. Mine also did the same thing. Radio totally locks up. I had to resart the car for it to work again. I replaced it with a Pioneer aftermarket Double Din unit. I didn't want to go back to another Acura Radio and more of the same problems.

My 06 non-navi does some similar things, not nearly as often, though. Sometimes I can turn the radio off and back on to get it to work again, others it needs to be restarted. It's only done it about 4x; I've owned it since it was new.

05' AT SSM
I have 05 TL with same problem, head unit replaced under warranty.
What happened was i couldn't change station/tracks couldn't adjust sound controls (right nob) Then it worked for 2-3 weeks then stopped for a week or so. Sometimes it would have no power at all, then later it worked without a hitch. (Frustrating problem)
Luckily when i brought it in the unit was unresponsive, he ran a test and said it was an internal malfunction. Funny thing is 2 days later it started working no problems, even worked when Acura replaced it.
Also i tried D/C battery, car restart nothing would fix this problem when i had it. I suppose you need to bring it in to the Dealer when it is malfunctioning so they can diagnose.
