Radio "Goes Stupid"
Radio "Goes Stupid"
Occasionally the radio in my '06 TL (factory Navi) 'goes stupid'. It is seemingly on, but won't respond to controls, play a station, etc. I have an iSimple iPod adapter installed, but 99.9999% of the time I listen to XM.
Normally in this situation, I rapidly (mostly out of frustration) turn the radio off/on and it eventually cooperates and works normally.
Any thoughts? I tried to search the forum, but obviously the problem is a little hard to reduce to keywords.
Thanks,
Steve

Mine started acting weird for a couple months before it went out completely. It started by being very picky with CDs and sometimes rejecting brand new ones. Eventually the CD player went completely out and almost blew my sub when it did.
Radio worked for another week but started acting weird. Sometimes it wouldn't turn off. Sometimes you could only change the channel from the steering wheel controls and it was totally non responsive to any buttons on the radio itself. Finally it would do nothing but turn on once in a while and would never shut off once it was on. It also went out with a bang....poor subwoofer.
The only good thing is someone here showed me a site where you can get a brand new one for just under $300 to your door vs the $1,200+ Acura wants for it.
