Which RADAR to buy ?

Hey All !
I am ready to spend $350.00 for a good Radar for my 04 TL
any sugestions or thoughts ?

Which one is the BEST ?
Thanks !

P.S. - Own the car 5 days only. Noticed very high speed is unavoidable.

Save up another $50 and buy a Valentine One; you won't regret your decision.

OH, God I can feel this being a V1 vs Escort 8500 X50 Debate again.

Bottom line: You can't go wrong with either. Google Radar Detector Reviews and read them. Search the forum and read what members thought. You should have a good idea what each can do and you will be happy with either.

Hmmm ... Aren't you having problems with your RX65, Scuba629?

I am personally very happy with my Escort 8500 x50, and the blue display goes perfectly with the TL's interior.

Here's a site that makes me very happy: http://www.speedzones.com

Here's a site that makes me very sad (even though Tram Mai on the video link is friggin' hot!): http://www.azcentral.com/news/articl...peeding24.html

Radar detectors would become totally useless here.

It could be the beginning of the end for radar detectors ... :'(

Valentine one ALL THE WAY. Escort just beeps and as motortrend mag once said in its review of all the radar detectors out on the market , about Valentine one, " once you start living with the arrows you will wonder how did you ever live without them". Its 400 dollars well spent. My personal total savings as of today due to V1, i.e avoiding speeding tickets, is around 15 tickets. :-D and that ant no bull lol. Anyways wutever floats ur boat dude, passport is good, but V1 is the best hands down :-D

Check the Valentine webiste for their toll free number. If you call them they normally have refurbished units they will sell you for $350. Problem solved. I can't say enough good things about the V1.

Check this site out

Radar tests are located here. Escort also will let you try theirs out for 30 days with a money back guarantee. Actually, they're letting me keep one until Oct. 26 for a southwest trip - very nice company to deal with (direct). Trying and maybe buying the Escort 8500 X50, personally.

i am trying to choose a radar also...i have heard that the escort x50 is better because the v1 hasn't been updated in a while. reasons i'm leaning toward the x50: blue = looks better in car, at the radar tests it was ranked highest, i can get it for $200 new through a friend. reasons for wanting v1: a lot of people seem to be firm believers in it, arrows, when it updates, it will be the best.

I'll vote for the V1.

Just to cover the "it hasn't been updated in a while" part of the above argument...
What does age have to do with this. If it's still better than every other model out there, then why do they have to update it.*
(*Okay, I'll give the Escort 8500 an esception to that statement.)..
Also, Valentine is the only company to UPDATE their models. Meaning when the do update them, you can have your current model upgraded, and you don't have to dump it to go buy a new model.

Most people agree that the V1 or the 8500 are both good choices.
Most people also agree that the cordless models are not powerful enough.

I personally have the V1, and think that the mounting options are better. (You may have seen my hardware mounting article...)

I believe Valentine will update theirs free - not sure about that. I am purchasing the X50 due to the great review referenced in an above post. Escort will offer free upgrades for 3 years for a $29 add-on when you buy the X50 from the factory. If the police change their radar frequency(s) output, it would be necessary.
