Question about PAC SWI-RC

Hey guys,
I installed an iPad mini in my dash and was planning on adding an iSimple adapter however I ended up coming across a really good deal on a sony MEX-GS600BT head unit. I decided to go with that due to the fact you can control the headunit from the iPad and also have bluetooth for calling since my HFL died on me. I am installing the headunit under the drivers seat. I will be adding a PAC SWI-RC so I can retain the steering wheel controls. I was curious to know if I would be able to tap into the wire for the steering wheel controls somewhere besides behind the stock headunit. ideally under the dash on the drivers side. I'm fairly certain the wire is green/red. If anyone has any advice on where I could tap into that wire it would be greatly appreciated.
