Angry Question about homelink

Hey guys this isnt another thread about where to find homelink instructions or anything like that. Just had a quick question, when i try to program my homelink the light indication never seems to flash red like it says its supposed to in the manual. I hold both of the outside buttons for 20-45 seconds and the indicator never flashed red. I tried looking at the fuses to see which one it might be, but I couldnt find anything exactly for homelink.

Do you guys have any ideas what the problem may be? thank you for any help!

Does it flash red at all when you just press the buttons?

This really doesn't help..... But i know when I did mine it did not work as the manual stated it should but with a little searching and trial and error I got it working. I would guess if no lights at all either bulb is burnt or it just doesn't work at all. More than likely the later of the 2

Perhaps the power cables for it under the head-liner got disconnected or frayed...

As far as fuses, it's on the same circuit as the autodimming mirror. I think that is connected to the AUX fuse... At least it is on my other car. Not sure how Acura has it laid out. Does your lighter socket and/or auto-dimming mirror still work?

yea it still works so im guessing its not the fuse then, im hoping its just the bulb but in that case it means im installing the homelink incorrectly lol

does anyone know where i can get the unit if need be? maybe what the price range is for it as well? thanks!

ok, I just looked at the Service Manual... The Homelink is on the same circuit as the map lights. If the map lights turn on, the power is ok. If the map lights do not turn on, check:

1.) Blown Fuse #6 in the under-dash fuse box (7.5A)
2.) An Open GRY/BLU wire between the underdash fuse box and roof console
3.) An Open BLK wire between the roof console and G503/G601, which I think is a grounding point on the body. You can probably just check to make sure this wire goes to ground.

If the power is ok, perhaps the LED is just out... In that case, you should still be able to program it... If your door doesn't open, you probably just have a rolling code opener, in which case, you'll need to hit the "Learn" button on your garage door opener motor. There should be a light above it. Once you hit the button, the light should illuminate. When you hit your home-link button, the light should go out, and the door should open/close.

Here's the page from the service manual for reference:

OK so this morning i started my car and forgot to close my garage manually i pressed the homelink button as a joke to myself and the homelink flashed red! It is weird because in battery mode it never flashed when i pressed it. However, i was pressing the first homelink button later on when i was closer to school and it no longer flashed. I tried pressing the other two buttons and they still flashed when pressed. I'm guessing my car needs to be on while im programming it? I will try it tomorrow morning and give you guys an update.
