Power outlet/Radar Detector ?

Power outlet/Radar Detector ?

Do the power outlets turn off when u take the key out of the ignition, im gonna hardwire my radar detector but i gotta get the kit so untill then i dont wanna have to turn it on and off manually, gets annoying.

Yea I know how to wire it, I just wanna know if they turn off automaticly, they dont in my truck now and its SO annoying

yes, they turn off. i have mine powered by the outlet in the center console armrest area and it shuts off when the car is off. i didnt feel like hardwiring it so i bought a really long extension cord and i have it traveling a very long route to get there, but it is almost invisible.

Where did ya get the cord? Id like to do that but I already have an add a fuse so why not lol

I forgot i actually bought two cords, a longer power cord from the manufacturer, and then the extra extension cord to cover the extra distance. It was a bit of an overkill on length but its all good, i just have it coiled and velcroed to the inside of my console.

i just ran a hard wire from my switch panel through the A pilar and through the overhead. it is completely discrete. you see very little wires and the detector.
