Several weeks ago my Navigation sytem quit booting up when I start the car. Each time I start the car the "Acura Navigation" wallpaper comes up and just stays there. The sytem never boots up. It then cycles through between that screen and the "code" screen. However...I am not able to touch the screen to do anything at all. I have taken out the navi disc and put it back in, but it still says frozen on that screen. Is there a way to "reboot" the system?

I never had any problems before and I haven't had the battery die on me or anything? I've searched this forum and the internet and I can't find anyone who has had any similiar issues... any help or input would be greatly appreciated.

 

This is by no means a smart alik question,,, but are you out of warranty??


Then again, I bet someone on the forum has experienced this. I myself cant help ya - I wonder if the disk drive is bad.

whats the year of your TL?

Unplug battery and replug it?

2004 TL

 

1. Remove DVD
2. Unplug both battery terminals for 30mins (make sure you have Radio/Navi code)
3. Reconnect battery
4. Start up the car - enter navi code
5. Insert DVD
6. Restart the car
7. It will goes through the DVD download process

It should work now. If it still doesnt work then it could be a hardware issue. Do you TVandNav2Go installed or anything else with the navi?

 

Ok...I followed your instructions to a T. I thought it was going to
work, but as soon as I started to enter the nav code... I was able to
get one number in and then the nav system started to cycle through
again. First the nav wallpaper screen then back to the code screen.
I tried to enter the code again...and it just keeps going in that cycle.

Ever hear of something weird happening like that????

 

keep the DVD in. disconnect and reconnect the battery again after 5 min and enter the code. Again do you have anything else installed on the navi unit?

I had similar problem
I finish installing a sound system to my car and since I had the battery disconnected for a while the NAVi asked me for a code. At first I though one code for everything not knowing that radio and navi are seperate codes.
My problem i did not had the codes.
I notice in another thread that sais the radio code and navi code are in the club box on the side white sticker .
But my navi screen when black screen because i put in the wrong code more than 3 times.
I follow your step and I was able to input the codes that I found inthe club box and I am a happy camper :gheywave:
