Please Help Aftermarket Sub Problem!!!!!!!!!

I had a 10" JL Audio W1 put in my car today, they disconnected the sub and used those wires for the signal, also disconnected the mic in the rear that everyone says was giving them problems, The sub sounded so bad it made the stock sub sound great, the installer said he had to tap into the rear speakers to drive the sub and it sounded a little better but I lost sub control from the stock radio. What gives? Any ideas?

did they hook it up to an amp? If not, its probably not getting the right wattage.

If they are using a high level input into an after market amp, they need to tap into the speaker signal before the factory amp. If he is taping into the signal at the rear speakers they have already gone through the factory amp and the built in crossover, which is why it doesn't sound right.

Yes I'm using a fosgate amp with enough power for a 10" sub.
