Three thoughts as to possible issues:
1) Is the DVD compatible with the drive, i.e. '04-'06 Navi drives use an orange disc (version 3.XX), while later drives use a version 4.XX white disc.
2) Is the Navi drive from an Acura (as opposed to a Honda)?
3) Is the Navi drive hacked or OEM?
