A good way is to use a real file format. Why spend your money on a nice car and then use a crap lossy format like .MP3? Use Adobeman's DVD-A burning software and burn yourself some DVD-As if what you want is a high-capacity solution.

Man, give people time to respond! I had already gone to sleep when you replied. Search this forum for posts by a user named Adobeman. He's posted a link to his DVD-A software. Best of all, it's free!

If what you are doing is taking mp3s to put them on a DVD-A, you are wasting your time. When the original file was converted to mp3, certain parts of the sound were discarded to achieve a smaller file size. They cannot be recovered except by starting over with the original source material.

You might try installing this:

Or this may be better:

This is true, but DVD-A is still a good (and cheap) way to get a huge number of mp3 files to play in the TL.

Other, more expensive solutions are to go the AUX input route. There are several hardware options that will allow you to plug your mp3 player directly into your factory stereo. Some will even integrate the steering wheel controls with playlist control. Check out the 3G Audio FAQ:

https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/3g-tl-audio-electronics-faq-605299/

Lots of great info here.

Try this thread: Project "Free DVD-A", yet another DVD-A creation thread. (The words after the colon are a link, as are the words "by clicking here" in the next paragraph.)

Or you can visit his DVD-A GUI site directly by clicking here. Make sure you read the instructions for how to use the software! It's not hard, but you do want to make sure you know how to use it just to make sure you don't wind up with some nice DVD-style drink coasters.

Just get an iSimple kit and plug in your iPod. You can buy it online or places like BestBuy sell them and install them.

Another solution is to burn your mp3 files to a CD keeping the folder structure. I know the 08 has a way to move to next folder & the CD costs pennies.

Do you have a "MP3" label on the front of your radio?

he won't, the 07-08 TL got the MP3/WMA update, earlier TL's can't play them.

With the Isimple, you don't loose controls as long as it's an ipod, if not, then you won't have any controls, just an AUX input you can plug an MP3 player into.

Telling you just get the iSimple you will love it. Do you have an iPod, if so you can change songs on the steering wheel with the iSimple. Do you have NAVI? If so the iSimple will display the iPod track and artist right on the NAVI screen.
