Phone Keypad

Will Acura ever intergrate a phone key pad into its Nav package? I think it would be a nice feature.

I think it would be much safer to have the keypad than using a phone especially if the you a Cingular 8125 or any other Pocket PC.

Or you can just get the Sony W810i which is what I did. Then you can upload your entire contacts database onto the Nav screen. I now search for my contacts on the Nav unit, not my phone. I have ~1000 contacts with multiple entries for each and the car imported all of them. It is awesome!

Would be a nice feature, but you can always voice dial too.

Whats wrong with voice command?

you: "Dial 123456789"..

HFL: "Would you like to call.."

you: "Yes"

HFL: "Calling..."

Nifty little feature.

Because my car does not understand "seven" as the first digit half the time. It always thinks it is an eight or a nine for some reason. Besides, don't tell me it gets your numbers right every time
I hate having to sit there and repeat the same number multiple times. It can be quite frustrating.
Nifty little feature but picking the contact from the Nav screen works everytime...

Only thing with the w810 and other Sony Ericsson phones is that the bluetooth sucks on those! I know from experience (w600i and w810i).

Get a blackberry pearl and use the voice dialing on there, plus the bluetooth is top notch. Motorola also has good bluetooth... But my BlackBerry is the best phone I've used I dont have any probs with it.

So wait? I can't import my address book onto my 06 like he did?

Really?
I haven't had any issues at all with the W810. I get Battery strength, signal strength full phonebook import and have not had any issues at all.
Maybe I just got lucky,

OH i mean that the bluetooth strength is really weak. and when transferring things to other phones sony ericssons are usually slow.

Oh OK... That makes sense. I can only be about 20 feet from the car before I lose my signal, my N80, 8800 and E61 all stay connected from anywhere in the house. But then again that's not really an issue inside the car . The transfer might be slow but it is the only device that I know of that uploads its entire contacts database to the navi...
