People who spliced XM for aux audio, need ur help

Hey guys, I was wondering if I can use a video/audio switcher and cut the RCA Audio cable coming out from the switcher and tap them into the xm auido signal? A dvd player is on the input side of the switcher. It is a soundstream video/audio switcher. Do I need any relays or can I just use a switch to seprate the xm and the audio from the soundstream unit? I'm tired of the fm modulator. It sounds like arse. Thanks in advance.

I used a 4PDT relay to switch the sound between my carPC and the XM radio. I don't know what the soundstream unit does... I assume it feeds video to the stock navi? One thing is sure tho.. the sound from the XM should be much better than your FM modulator and its pretty simple mod to do.

hey moahdib, I did the same thing to this guy's TL last Saturday. I wired up a 4PDT from Radio Shack. When the relay was hot, the aux input successfully transferred, but the XM was barely bleeding through...any idea what would have caused that?

I'm clueless...the only thing I could think of is that it was a cheap relay. I was very irritated b/c it stuck me with the FM modulator as the only option.
