PA11– Hon2y Smart iPod Connector

Hello All!!

New to this forum and very first forum to ever join.

Just bought a 2005 TL Base and am loving it.

I am new to the whole forum thing and I apologize in advance if this question is posted elsewhere.

So....the car came with the old iPod Connector (30 pin) on it. I have an iPhone 5c and was wondering if it will work if I buy the lightning adapter for it?

Thanks guys for any help and guidance you can give me.

The simple answer is that it should work with the adapter. Another solution is to use the AUX port on the USA Spec for a Bluetooth adapter and then use the phone for BT audio. Since you already have the USA Spec, an adapter is pretty cheap, and there's plenty of them available.

Check here:

You can use any BT adapter of your choosing, but you would need a red/white RCA to 3.5 mm Y connector and a female to female coupler to attach your BT device if your current setup doesn't have a 3.5 mm AUX out. Even if you had to get these pieces, they're very cheap on Amazon. I have a USA Spec in my car and via BT, the sound is very good. I have an Iphone 5 in a Mophie battery case, so I never connect my phone directly to the car- it's normally in my briefcase on in my holster.

Thanks for the post, and awesome write up. I will for sure go this route now. I followed my cable and the USA Spec seems to be installed under the cup holders, so I will disaseemble and figure it out. Thanks again!

No worries...the console is pretty easy to dismantle, just a few screws. Don't pull too hard of the knee panel- it should slide out of it's place, not have to be pulled/ bent out of place.
