I was able to pair my Nextel i580 to the HFL with no problems for about a month now. About time Nextel got their act together. Only one friend has complained that it sounds horrible. Most other people have said it sounds like i'm on a cell phone. I've heard that there is a HFL upgrade to improve the sound quality. Has anybody heard or this upgrade or had it done?

I own a 06' TL w/Nav and I was wondering if the I580 Nextel phone you were able to pair up to the vehicle works properly as far as displaying in the MID (incoming call number, call transer, call hang up, call waiting, manual ring tones, battery strength etc? Thanks.

 

So far everything is working just fine. I've had to transfer a couple of times because some people can't stand the sound quality (I have an '04 TL), and the only complaint is the voice recognition doesn't always understand what your saying. The battery strength and signal icons are perfect and call and hang up works as well. Off the top of my head I'm not sure if it displays call ID, I'll get back to you as soon as i can check it, but I also have a non-Nav so I'm not sure if it displays that anyway. All in all, I've been pleased with the way it works.

 

Call ID works too.
