Nextel Bluetooth adapter?

Nextel does not offer a bluetooth enabled phone except for the Blackberry. There is an adapter on the website

http://nextelonline.nextel.com/NASApp/onlinestore/Action/ViewAccessoryDetailAction?accessorySKU=JAB0210R&sh owAddToCart=1&callingPage=AccessoryLanding

that says it will allow Bluetooth headsets to work. Could this pair up with the TL? I am so disgruntled to have that feature that I would use, and be stuck with Nextel's no Bluetooth phones.

Any thoughts?

Does nextel manufacture phones themselves? I know their networks work way differently from real cell phones. Bluetooth though should be pretty standard, and so far, I think the TL works by making the phone think its a headset. How dialing and stuff works, is a little more complicated. If you figure it out, post how you did it!

Adapters will not work unless it carries a HF profile. The following is from the Acura BT FAQ:
Bluetooth is the name of a wireless technology standard which allows different types of electronic devices to interact via short-range radio waves. Because of the versatility of Bluetooth wireless technology, enabled devices do not share all of the same profiles. The HandsFreeLink™ system is compatible with Bluetooth-enabled phones that have a hands-free profile. The standard allows a wide range of devices to communicate with each other, with minimal user effort.

The day I first posted this, I saw the i605 on Nextel's website. I've read in other posts that the i605 does work okay with the TL.

Nextel's phone support swears that the headset adapter will pair with the TL. I'm going to go pick one up, and see what happens. $50 is alot better than $299.

I'll let you know if it works.
