Okay, so i just got my Acura tl like week and half ago and i love it! but there are two wires that are sticking out of my cup holders that i have no idea what they are for! The previous owner(iunno who it is) must of did a mod but got no clue what they are used for! I got a picture i can post here of the two wires, if someone knows, that be great! Btw it does have a subwoofer mod :p.. Im a noob when it comes to this car stuff! trying to learn stuff now! Here is the picture

 

that looks like the wires that connects to a satelite radio dock, so im guessing he had satellite radio either way just trace the wires and remove shouldn't be hard

 

yeah, we are just as clueless as you are.
it powered some kind of device. but you knew that already.

 

thanks guys for your help! Im going to go this weekend to a auto electronic shop and ask what they are! Id like to know what they are used for before taking them out!

they wont know wtf that is either, unless they tear it out and find any kind of words or writings or markings to help determine what it was used for.

In addition to that, they will take you for a SUCKER. and charge you lots of money just to tell you what we told you....

 

Plug something in and see if the cords will charge it or if it does anything else.

that is exactly what it is, its the power cable and the xm/sirius antenna for a aftermarket sat radio kit

 

What I would do if figure out if you want an iPod/iPhone adapter +/- bluetooth, then take apart the center console (which is pretty straightforward), remove those cords and reinstall your new equipment- do it all in one operation.

those are xm/sirius satelite radio wires check on the dash or outside the car for a antenna, and the power most likely is tapped in the fuse box. I remember doing a Tl at future shop and i ran his wires to the center console or glove box last winter.
