Once there, select XV6600 from the dropdown list on the upper left.

The improvements make performing the upgrade worth the while. Bluetooth in the car is more stable. No more 5 second or so delay seeing the phone symbol appear on the dash from the moment you turn on the phone's bluetooth, it now comes on almost immediately. Previously the voice transfer command didn't always work and I'd often have to do a soft reset to correct it, no more, "transfer" now works every time. All the quirks using this phone with the HFL seem fixed except for display of battery level and signal strength on the MID.

What's interesting is if you go to Verizon Wireless's XV6600 support page and click on XV6600 software upgrade, it takes you to UTStarcom's info page for this model where clicking on Downloads tells you there's none available. Using the above link however, gets you to the right place.

This upgrade also comes with Windows Media Player 10, the same version that comes with Windows Mobile 5.

It's unusual that a phone manufacturer would come out with a software upgrade after the phone's gone out of production. Kudos to UTStarcom!
