I'll bet you won't see this phone in a Verizon store until 2006 given Verizon's history of taking forever to release new phones. Sprint had the Treo 650 on the market about 6 months before Verizon finally got around to it.

I believe when Palm/Verizon/MSFT announced it, they stated an "early 2006" release date and then six months later for other carriers. So yeah, it won't be until 2006, but Verizon will still be first.

Received and paired the Treo 700w yesterday. No battery or signal strength (just like the Treo 650), but the pairing process was flawless and, unlike the 650, so far the 700 has exhibited no horrible screeching sounds, spontaneous resets, or first call problems. So far I'm quite pleased.

Treo 700w

I am pleasantly surprised that your newTreo 700w synchs with the RL.

My assumption is your carrier is Verizon, as I am told that Verizon is the only carrier currently selling the Treo 700w. But, Acura's handsfreelink website does not even list the Treo 650 (when paired with Verizon) as a compatible phone. So how is it that a Verizon Treo 700w works for you? Perhaps my information is incorrect, but that is my understanding. Thanks much.

Verizon has a 6 month exclusive on the 700W phone. Rumor is that Sprint will be coming out with a 700P in the next month or two. Similar hardware to the 700W (EV-DO Radio, etc..) but with Palm OS instead of Windows.

I personally would rather have Palm (I'm a Linux user) so having Windows will not work for me (No Outlook, and don't want Outlook).

I may consider upgrading my Sprint Treo 650 when/if Sprint comes out with the 700p.

I get signal strength with my Treo 650

i have the treo 650. it works (w/ no signal strengnth, no caller id, frequent phone resets, etc). i just ordered the 700p. it will work w/ HFL because of Bluetooth standards. it's a matter of the degree of comatability. i expect it will work as well as the t650, and only hope it will work better...

This the problem why some phones work and some don't. Nobody follows the standard, they all have their own proprietary implementation.

In you post when you said you ordered a 700p, I assume you meant 700w. The 700p is purely rumor at this point.
