Hey Guys

Has anyone tried replacing their older Keyless Remote with the most recent one? It looks really nice and I was thinking about doing a conversion with my keys, but not sure how to...any thoughts? I live in the NYC area, so if you would also be able to suggest someone that is near by, it is greatly appreciated...

If you are referring to the new switchblade key than I think you should do a search

 

When did they start the new switchblade key? I have an 08 and have that key but am not sure and curious as to what years it was introduced.

 

Mine is a '07 and I have a switchblade.

 

Starting in 2007, acura has been using switchblade keys with it's cars. Prior to that, it was the usual seperate key and remote. To the OP, you can buy these keys from ebay and other sources. I suggest you search next time before posting otherwise a bunch of members are going to have fun poking at you. Enjoy!

You have to get a milled 07+ switchblade, or do a hackjob like deltaboxxx and some OGs did. FLBUSA was the only one who was setup for milling abilities, but from my knowledge he has stopped doing it.

on a side note- csmeance, when did you become a mod?!! Congrats!

 

I got an 05 and I just recently got the switchblade key for my TL. My original remotes looked like they were 20 years old

PM deltaboxxx, he made my key for me, not even one month later dealership broke my new switchblade key (thats deltaboxxx had made) and I was able to get my dealership to mill a new key for me as well as cut and program it. Loooooong story but I'm over it and happy with the end result.

 

Today, thank you for the congrats, but back on topic, you may be able to order a key from oakland acura, they had a few, not sure if they got them back in stock.

yea i want to do teh switchblade key too...but i lost key user 1 fob, and i'm not sure if there are any other alternatives...LOL

 

If you have a key that can start the car, it is no problem. The old key will only be used to program the immobilizer, the car will learn the unlock buttons by putting it in learn mode via certain steps. The dealer should know these steps, if not, its also in the 3G garage.

I prefer to not have that driver memory, cause my brother sometimes takes my car out and he always has to keep adjusting it when he goes in and out of the car.. Im 6 ft and he is 5'5... I'm also fond of the switchblade key...may have to talk to deltaboxxx....but I am not too keen on dropping $200 to get this done though.

well it is about 200+ for two keys and getting them programed...

 

ive seen them on ebay for 39 dollars, but you have to have someone program it

 

i doubt they milled it..they probably bought it from FLBUSA just like Oakland Acura was doing.
