Hey guys...just wanted to say hello and post a few questions. First off I am coming from e90post and had a 3 series and i must say surfing this site last few days...i am so impressed with the knowledge and help that every gives. I am glad to be apart of this forum...my experience at e90 sucked.

I have a 04 blk on blk TL and have surfed to find out the answer the a few questions but have been unsuccessful. Can someone direct me. Id like to say thanks in advance for the help sorry if these Qs have been asked a million times

Question 1: I would like to play DVDs on my navi... can someone tell me what i need in order to do this? do I need NavtoTv?

Question 2: I would like to get either my iphone 3gs or ipod touch to play music and videos on my navi screen. I have read Isimple but no idea which one i need or if another alternative that is better is out there

Question 3: Id like to install a back up camera - what are my options here.

Question 4: I am looking to upgrade my exhaust and would like your opinions on what is a good brand to buy

Thanks that sticky was helpful but one thing i havent found is which ipod integration system allows text and to display videos from your itouch? I found the link very helpful but non of them mention playing videos off the ipod

 

I'm not sure anyone's figured out a way to get video off the iPod Touch and onto the Nav screen. I have a Touch, but am content (at this point) with being able to play just the music. If you find a solution, by all means, post it up.

First, welcome to the forums. This is a great place with lots and lots of great info, but you need to put in the time to search and read. Almost every question you may have at this stage of your TL ownership has been asked before. Start with the 3G Garage:

To give some more specific answers to some of your questions, I use the NavTool to interface the video with my Navi unit. There are other options out there which may be more suitable for you and your iPod---I do not have an iPod so I don't have any specific info on that. The NavTool unit also gives the interface for the backup camera and is quite a useful addition to your TL. I hate how I can't see anything behind me and actually clipped a signpole because of it. Note that the NavTool only does video---you will need another component for your audio.

you guys rock thank you so much for the insight....I read alot on wendy's cam but not understanding the lingo was half the problem since im not real techy. I will keep searching. This is site is a lot more friendlier then ppl on e90. I hope to contribute as well
