Neo Car Audio iPod Adaptor Installed
So since I'm not interested in the text function, is there any reason I shouldn't pull the trigger now on one of these? Doesn't sound like they are having problems with the non-text version. The only thing I worry about is bleed from the satellite feed. We use XM so I don't want to disable that.

Instead get the Neo PODHONR3V2Y, or the Dice/USA-SPEC equivalent.
The Neo non-Text version is just a more expensive rebranded USA Spec PA11-HON2y, but even so there are current issues with the PA11: Occassional Skipping on the USA Spec PA11-HON2Y

My experiences with NEO (2006 TL w/Nav)
I ordered mine from mp3yourcar the price was 199.00 i told them that their competitor has it for 149.00 they didnt even challenge it they just said ok fine. So I get the unit I was a n00b until i did the install myself, i'll tell you one piece of advice. Do this install yourself take your time and be patient. I know nothing about cars but really was determined to get this done. In addition to accomplishing this task you'll learn alot about the car. Anyway I've had problems with this unit in regards to interferences from the engine. The unit will work great for about 15 minutes and then 1 speaker will drop out and be replaced with the sound of the engine alternator. Acceleration makes this high pitched squeel. I've contacted the company and they sent me a replacement y adaptor and cables. That did nothing, I now called them back and they are talking about the ProLink unit w/ text if I want a replacement box free of charge, this is the unit all of you are discussing, apparently you guys know more about it then they do. Taking the unit out and replacing it is really a pain in the ass if your a busy person and just want this thing to work, I'd go with the non text version. I'm going to replace the box and see if this remedies my problem. On the good side this unit charges the Ipod and sounds incredible compared to a POS tape adaptor or a POS Fm modulator. I've connected the ipod to both the RCA out and the Main connector that goes into the bottom of the iPOD, both have excellent sound. The unit is very flaky with turning on sometimes, you have to pause the ipod and press play again to wake the unit up sometimes. Also in CDC mode if you press + or - on the navi screen it pauses the ipod which is pretty cool. I may have a defective unit due to the engine interference, But i definately recommend it for anybody trying to get thier Ipod working. Whats cool too is that you can control the Ipod from the unit itself or the dash controls, or steering wheel.
If anybody wants to know more about my experiences with it PM me.

Well, I got the new, revised Dice unit, and it is closer, but no Cigar. This one will work in Sat mode, and then when you push the XM button, it does play the Ipod. But, the Xm radio plays as well. I hear both at the same time. It is not just bleeding through, but plays just a loudly as the ipod. Which points me to the y-cable I got from Honda. It is just a simple y cable, so it makes sense that the radio is getting a signal from both the Dice box, and the XM source as well. I would think I would need a special y cable that does not pass the Xm signal from the Xm source to the radio. Also, still no text, except the XM text. But again, since it is a simple y cable, the radio is passing the text to the nav/upper display just like it would normally. The Dice box is in essence, further down that chain, and is not getting its signal through. I asked them if the Dice cable is not a standard Y cable, but has some wires moved or not connected to the other end of the y cable.

The other way is to NOT use the "Y" cable - although I'm not sure if that will have an adverse effect on other functions of the deck. I went the hard route and left the "Y" cable plugged in and disconnected the XM tuner in the trunk. Let us know if things change once you get that disconnected.
I tried unplugging the Xm cable as you described above and using the Y cable, and there was no difference.

I got an e-mail from NEO last week stating that they were "close" and that things are "looking really good" for an update to the TEXT units for Navi owners. No solid dates or any additional information at this time. For what it's worth...

I had a quick e-mail exchange with NEO support about a week and a half ago. At that time they had supposedly finished the code and were in the midst of regression testing to make sure it all works. I haven't heard anything since. I'll try and get an update.
I talked to Neo 3 separate times over the last month, and each time they said "it's almost done and will ship by the end of the week." I called to get my money back yesterday; tired of being jerked around. I'll just wait and order the unit from Dice for $30 cheaper when they've gotten all the bugs out.

They offered me a trade-in for the non-text version, and I think I'm going to go ahead and do that. At least I'll have some radio-control of the iPod (playlists, next track, etc). I asked them if they'd get me back into a text unit if they get the problems fixed - and they sounded like it would be okay. In any event, I'm going to swap for the non-text unit now.
The RMA form said that they want everything back (cables, harness, box, etc.) There's no way I'm ripping the car apart again to get the rest of that stuff - so I sent in an e-mail asking if we can just swap the box and leave it at that. I'll let you know what they say.
Definitely a sad day. I was really hoping for text.
The discussion on the DICE module has been split into its own thread: Dice iPod Adaptor with Text Display
Please continue the discussion on that module there. This thread will remain open for the Neo module. Thank you.

Just a quick update if anyone's interested. It looks like the Neo module supports 04-05 TLs w/ Text. When you use it in an 06+, there are problems.
I currently have a beta unit that at least displays "iPod" while I'm playing the iPod, but no controls work, and aside from 'iPod', no text works either. I'm waiting for an update from Neo to see if they've made any progress in the last month or so.
