I just purchased the 2012 navi update for my 2005 TL. I took out the old disc and replaced it with the new 2012 orange v.3.80. However, I'm not sure if it's working. The box that the new disc was shipped in says that it will take about 1 minute for the system to update, and that the progress will be displayed on the screen. After I replaced the old disc with the new one, I got in my car and hit "OK" on the nag screen, but I never saw anything that showed the updating or anything saying update in progress. Am I missing something? After being fleeced for $165.00, I want to know that it's working properly. When I look in the Navi system information, the software version
says: ver. 1.5000 I'm in sales and do a lot of driving, so I figured this would be worth the price since it's been 6 years from the last update (my car came with the original orange disc from the factory). Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! THANKS! J

When I updated, the screen showed update progress and did not go to the nag screen until after it loaded the updates-- it took less than a minute, IIRC. However, it took a good 8-10 minutes to re-set the GPS location afterwards.

Does the Navi show your current location? If so, it's done.

FWIW, your Navi should operate a little more quickly on searches, too, so do a search on a store or place that opened within the last couple of years.
