Need Help/Guidance with Audio for DVD Install..
Okay, I finally have a NAV&TV2go converter which is installed in trunk. Putting the camera in later this week.
I have a Myron & Davis AD212 going into the rear armrest and plan on using a relay switch to go between Navi & DVD. I am going to put the relay switch in the vacant switch next to the VSA OFF switch in the dash.
I also have MusicLink. Yes, I actually do like it. After figuring out how to navigate around it's fine, for me. I really like the sound. Anyway:
1. I want to keep my MusicLink and do not want a FM Modulator for audio with the DVD.
2. What do I need or to put it better, what is the best way to run audio with my current setup.
3. I want to keep XM Radio.
4. I prefer to not have anymore relay switches for audio.
5. Do I need the USASpec or Pie???? I am not familiar with these two.
6. Where can I install this converter for audio as well?

You are in a pickle my friend.
I have not seen anyone keep the MusicLink and install TVandNav2GO. Reason being is that the MusicLink does not provide any additional audio inputs.
Your problem is you want to keep three things that share the same CDC plug: XM, MusicLink, audio for DVD. With the common Y-adapter, you can share between 2 (XM and MusicLink, XM and PIE, XM and USA Spec). I haven't seen a 3 way splitter, though they might exist.
USA Spec is seen as the alternative to the MusicLink plus some. It will allow you to control and iPod (like the MusicLink) plus it will allow an additional aux input (for DVD for instance).
The PIE X3 is just pure aux; three of them to be exact. Most use this configuration: one for iPod, one for DVD, one spare. Since it is pure aux, there is no iPod integration (unless you look into the Valor iLink with remote for instance).
So, IMO if you want to keep the MusicLink and XM, then FM modulator is the way to go.
Otherwise, lose the MusicLink and either get the USA Spec or PIE X3. Not sure if you can keep MusicLink (and lose XM) and install another USA Spec/PIE X3. Seems redundant to me and the interfaces might interfere with each other.
Good luck!

Okay, looks like I can't keep my XM & MusicLink and auxilliary audio for my DVD.
Can someone point me in the right direction for a great FM Modulator?
And how do these install? Hardwired? I hope? I
have searched and don't find much about install or pictures of the best unit.
Any input would be great. I am not going to go to PIE/x3 just yet.
I do not plan on using the DVD often if much at all so the FM Modulation is not a big issue. I just want a clean install like everything else...

thats true, but it depends on the DVD player model. Another thing is that the MusicLink and others provide (some) steering wheel controls while the DVD player will not. You will also have to burn MP3 CDs for the DVD player. So its up to preference, see track titles and use an external remote or just connect your existing iPod and control it through your steering wheel.
Also, to add a DVD player you will also need to look into something like Dom's TVandNav2Go which will add video interface to the factory system. That of course is an additional cost than just pure MusicLink/USA Spec.
