Question Need help disconnecting ANC '08 TL-S

ok, we have multiple threads out here and some state that you need to disconnect the rear mic (in the rear overhead light assembley). This seems simple, however some others state that you must disconnect the front mics (and they are located: (either near the center chanel speaker OR up where the sunroof is controled from) Could someone clarify where the front ANC mic is located, how to disconnect it, and MOST IMPORTANTLY that the front mic is NOT the voice recognition mic (ie after disconnecting you can still talk to the car).

Thanks in advance.

the front mic is for the HFL and that has to be connected for the paired phone to work....its in the dome light unit built into the bluetooth unit.....the only thing that has to be disconnected is the one green plug in the back behind the rear dome light in the headliner.

actually there is a separate ANC for the front and back as well as a separate HFL mic. ive done two tl's so far (both were type s's) one was an 07' (mine) and an 08'. In both i just disconnected the front and rear ANC mic's. in the rear it is a green plug off to the right side if you are looking out the rear deck (just follow the wire from the ANC to the plug), in the front you have to pull off the whole center piece which is very easily removed. In the front it is a plug located directly to the lower left hand part closest to the windshield just unplug it and go!!! If you need directions on how to remove the front piece just let me know.

Any step by steps for this? I did the back one but still get the noise as soon as I shut the doors.

Easiest way I have found is to just unplug the ANC module behind the center channel speaker.

I agree with the person above, it is the same thing I did. In fact I just removed the entire unit behind the center speaker. And it does not have anything do to with the HFL system.

I only unplugged the rear one, no more noise from the sub after that.

Agreed, I did the same thing, pull the top panel off above your navi screen, un plug the 2 connectors, and you can place or to the side. Behind the center speaker is a little square silver box with 2 nuts, remove those, disconnect the plug in the back of the silver box and you are done. Might have to move the center speaker to access it, but it pops out with the top screen on the top of the dash. There is a separate mic for the HFL so it will not affect it.
