Unhappy Need Help With Audio System For My Tl

I living in hell trying to upgrade my audio system. So far I"ve installed the amp with one 10" woofer with no ploblems. The ploblem is the signal that the speakers on the doors and the back dash are at 2 ohms and the speakers that I have are 4 ohms. This puts a drag on the system and it shuts off after some time, expect for the bass. Now am thinking that if I buy an amp and get the signal for it from the factory amp, that will work. I think ??? Can anyone HELP me please....

The signal after the stock amp is high level. If your new amp has high level inputs then it should be no problem. If it does not then you may need line output converters (LOCs) so they can be converted to low level signals to be fed into the low level inputs on your new amp.

Were is the amp and do I run seperate wires to the dash speakers? Also what do I do With the center channel since I wont be buying any DVD cd's. Is it hard to replace the speakers on the dash? I know that the center speaker just pops out. Someone said on this site that I can hook up the amp to the output of the sterio with out any loc's. They said that adding one will give me a hiss sound and that without one I'll get cleaner sound. I had bought a Stinger SALOC that I was planning to install. Should I forget about that and run the amp solo.

The problem here is that the stock speakers are 2 Ohms while most aftermarket amplifiers require 4 ohms speakers. The sound system Amplifier in the TL was designed this way so it could generate higher sound volume while still using a small size amplifier.

If you are going to use the stock speakers, make sure that the amplifier you purchase can actually handle the 2 Ohms load.

In theory, a 2 Ohms load will pass twice the current of a 4 Ohms load.

Ohms Law states that Power = Voltage X Current

Best regards
