My guess is that you blew a fuse somewhere. Check the fuses under the dash again and the one ones under the hood. Your reverse lights can trip fuses under the hood if it shorts out. Also triple check your grounds from Dom's unit and the camera. The black wire from Dom's box does not connect to anything (As far as I remember) if you don't have an override switch to turn the camera on at will. These are all just suggestions by the way. Maybe the more electrically enhanced members can chime in
The problem I had with my install a year ago was no picture on the screen due to not grounding the camera. It was a simple fix, but I had to trace all my steps for about 30 minutes to find it.

By the way, where are you drawing your power from to Dom's box? If the power to the converter is from a questionable source, that might also cause some issues with other electrically controlled components in the car.

Good luck

Unfortunately, talking to Dom, I think I fried my nav box.. However, everything is back to where it was, I have checked all fuses twice and they are all good. There is a way to test the B-Can to the power window switch through the Navi so I am going to try that... Thanks...

Any others????????

how did you do this all? Where did you tap for power? What did you put in the fuse box and what fuse number? did you use a PNP cable from dom's or did you use a cut in cable? the navi drive does not cover the windows nor dash lights, so frying it does not do that. If your B-Can failed, that means that the devices are inactive (powered off) or are not connected. Revert everything back to factory and check the #15 fuse in the fusebox by the driver door inside the car.

It is all back to normal, all fuses have been checked and double checked.. When I was doing the original install, I screwed up and cut the switch from dom's unit and was using that for power.. Now I know that was incorrect.. While I was trying to get everything to work, it was blowing fuses (#32)... I replaced the fuse, put everything back and now the dash, reverse lights do not work and I cannot roll windows up/down from switches... I can do windows from remote and door lock switch...

I did not do anything in the door.. It is odd how all the things in the Bcan failed, but radio, navi, ac all work.

In the Bcan results it has failed for HL switch (but it works) Wiper switch (but it works) MICU unit, door switch unit (not sure if it is windows or locks, but locks work) AC (works) and COMB (do not know what that is)... I am at a loss....

hold on, where did you get the power to power up the dom's unit? Secondly, did you tap the reverse lights? Third, did you have the PNP cable. Did you use fuse #32 to power anything up, and if yes, what? If you want me to help you over the phone tomorrow after 5PM, send me a PM with your number, I'll call you.

Which lights on your dash aren't working? The ones for your gauges or the ones on all of the buttons around your radio and buttons on the center console or both?

I know you said that you double checked the fuses but these are the main fuses you should check again.

Under the dash
Fuse#7 - is a 7.5amp fuse for the Audio/AC display, power window master switch power mirror, XM receiver, gauge control module security indicator and immobilizer control unit.

Fuse#21 is a 7.5amp fuse for the backup lights, gauge control module, keyless receiver Multiplex integrated control unit and shift lock (auto transmission).

Under your hood fuse box
Fuse#4 is a 10amp fuse for audio/ac display lights, lights for the transmission position, center console pocket light, dash lights brighteness control, door lock switch lights, side marker lights, moon roof switch light, mirror switch light.....

I hope some of this helps you in troubleshooting.

I also hope that you didn't fry the multiplex integrated control unit which I believe is built into the gauge cluster on the dash. This is like a central control unit for most of the accessories or lights in your car. If it needs to get replaced then you'll get a new speedometer cluster. Is there any odor of electrical burn in your car? I hope not. A warranty will cover it as long as there is no evidence showing you caused it by accident from an install. Hint, Hint.

Good luck on the rest of your install.

Hey Crook, all of those fuses check out ok.. Also, no burning smell now or at any time... I am hoping that there can be a simple reset through the obd port and all will be well.. I will be taking to dealer either tomorrow or Wednesday... Anyone out there that may know if there is a reset to the computer I could do, like maybe disconnecting the battery for a while or something, anyone?????

Car is back - Good as new

Took in to Tischer in Laurel last night, got an RDX for a loaner, which I must say is pretty nice.. Back on topic.. They said the problem was the autobarn daytime lights unit was causing the short.. I have had that unit for about 9-10 months and no problems. I did notice that it was not stuck to the side anymore and it was just hanging loose from the wires and banging around while driving.. I am guessing that the wires stretched a bit and caused a problem.. THey said everytime the connected it back up, it would blow a fuse, so they disconnected it and all is well.. I removed whole thing and am not going to worry about it.. I must say that I am happy with the way Tischer handled it, they could have charged me the labor and cost of parts since technically it was my fault....

Thanks for those that helped, will attempt the camera install again with the new info I have received..

THe fact that it was dangling around, yes.. The unit was flawless up until this point.. If I would have secured it better, ie cable ties, then it probably would have never happened.. I just used velcro and the heat in the engine compartment made the glue on the stirips melt... I still stand by the autobarn unit as being a good unit, it was just a sign for me to lose it.. I don't care, I am just glad it was not something bigger (meaning cost me money because of something I did)..
