Hi im from montreal Canada I just purshase a 2005 TL and my navigation systeme have not all the road in Canada its very very limited and acura said to me that i have to pay 300$ for an update i want to know if someone know smothing else to do about that???? i dont want to pay 300$ for that ,i have a 2008 cd (copy) but its not working please can someone help me i surch for it at lease 2 monts!! sorry for my english im a french!!

If you look further, there are coverage maps that list Canadian Prov.

You've got to stay with the same 'color'. The 04-06's are orange.

Not really. Other than buying it new from the Acura site, you can try finding it used on eBay and the Black Market forum here. Then again, with these older disks, you won't have the latest maps.

 

I am curious here as well. I have a feeling this site is not going to openly explain to you how to bypass the system in place and save $180+.

I think my 2G was pcmcia and I know I had something going but my memory does not permit me to recall. We have CLS and MDX that are both DVD and 05 TL. I would love to update all the systems but am no interested in paying the money, hell who is.

OK.....so go to your computer store and tell them that you bought a computer there with Windows XP and the upgrade to Vista should be free. How do you think that will go over?

Nothing comes for free these days. Especially upgrades. Do you think the changes are just a $2.00 DVD? There's money involved with developing the updates and I agree that the charges are sometimes outragious, the companies have to recover their costs.

I was just in Montreal this weekend and EVERYTHING is more expensive up there. A hockey stick that sells for $199 here is over $300 there.

What is a white face DVD. Is the face the cover that opens commonly referred to as a door on the unit. OR is the face the side of the DVD that is written to maybe its white?

I dunno but I am trying to tell if my 05 will support this update. Any help would be appreciated.

 

That information is not correct.

Go back to the Alpine site and enter your year and model.

On the left frame, an image of the DVD will appear and in the lower right corner, the color of the disk will be presented. The current version number is also displayed.

For the 3G's, orange (3.xx) covers 04-06 and white (4.xx) covers 07-08 only.

The latest versions are 3.70 and 4.62

 

I did hit the site last night and it does appear I need 3.7. So where can I download 3.7? I accept PM's

 

Not sure. The only place that may still be able to get them are the dealers.

Yea I want to download 3.70 too...the acuranavi.com site says it's been unavailable to buy for like a month now... I called the number to see when they'd be available and the guy was like "Oh we got a lot of orders when the update came out..." So how long could it possibly take for them to burn a few more hundred/thousand DVD discs?

Has anyone tried a burned copy of the DVD discs? Does that not work?

 

Yes the only place you can have is the dealer !Or wait the new batch from de navi site! and from de dealer the price is very high about 300$ and more (in Canada)

My girlfriend just bought a 04 TL today and i'm SURE the dealer is keeping the dvd, he said, "oh, you'll have to buy that". shady I know, but now I gotta find a disc for her.

I see the new 2008 TL uses 4.62
the latest for the 2004 TL uses 3.70

So, would a 4.62 work in her TL or do I need to find a 3.70 disc ? I looked on ebay and craigslist and I'm not finding much, help !

I'm in the southeast USA if that matters, are there multiple discs for different regions?

 

sumerian, what year is your TL, why can't you use the 4.62 ?

 

04-06 TL's can use any 3.xx version of the DVD.

07-08 TL's use the 4.xx versions.

If you go to the Alpine site, it will tell you what versions are for your model/year.

The car should come with the dvd. It might not be the most current version, but it should come with something. Is this an Acura dealer you are working with?

 

no, this place is shady. i was looking at an 04' TL with Navi and had 39k miles. he told me they just changed the rotors and I just paid $115 to have it inspected at the dealer. rotors and brakes will be nearly $1k to repair, needs 2 new tires, wiper blades, navi disc and key fobs for remote entry.

the car has a few dings here and there (mainly on the rims) and they were asking $21900 before $43 tag and $399 doc fee plus tax. I think we are taking the car back tomorrow and telling these people we arent buying the car.

 

You Cant use the 4.62 version for the 04 -05 -and the 06 the best dvd you can find for your girlfriend is the 3.70 its the latest ( i try to rip and iso AND copy and retry and retry a other way and did NOT work at all whit a 08 dvd in as 05 TL)

Hello! Acura chick needing some help here with my lil Acura! Always read u guys post, ideas, pix, advice. But never had to post a question cuz I always seem to find an answer. High 5 guys! But now Im ready to ask..
Sooo..I purchased an 2005 Acura Tl, and in very healthy condition mechanically wise. Only downfall is, my navi needed update, and my HFL had to be disconnected for draining my battery. And my CD player was reading Error.. I was told cd player and HFL needed to be replaced..
So I bought the 2013 navi dvd update today for a big azz price from dealer. Thought that would be the cheaper tackled issue. I popped in, and it still says in info 1.00 version . Do I need to reset something?? I just cant figure it out.HELP !

I would like to see where I can purchase a DVD transmitter to watch movies,on the factory navi screen, and a back up camera.mabe install a ipod aux port aswell...dont get it, if my cd player says cd/dvd player, does that mean I can watch dvd movies already if the cd player wasnt broke?? May seem silly to u guys But Im just a girl trying to have fun in the fast lane, with my girl Acura ! hope to hear some feed back and help if u can
