I cut out a 18cm X 11cm overhead projector tranparency sheet and slid it in the little gap between the navi screen and the plastic enlcosure.

Had to do some wriggling and last minute trimming but eventually had a professional finish.

The advantage I see is that fingerprints and dust can be kept off the screen and also might get you an extra layer of protection.

There is no loss in Navi functionality since the touch-screen is "heat-sense" and pastic (ovrhd transparency sheet) tramsits the finger touch.
