Question navigation routing question...

Does anyone know exactly what the difference is between 'Direct Route' and 'Easy Route' on the Navi..? Why couldn't they just list it as Fastest and Shortest like everywhere else. I always wonder which is fastest at times and which route would be shorter.

Direct Route
Calculates a route that is the most direct and will take the least time. This is the factory defult.

Easy Route
Calculates a route that minimizes the number of turns required.

So Easy Route may or may not be the shortest route.

Owners need to understand that the Navi system will not always use a route that make sense to you if you're in an area that you know well. This and all navi systems are designed to be used by people who are in areas that they are unfamiliar with. When you are in your home town you will alway know shorter more direct routes than the navi system will pick.

Every route is a relativly easy route with navi, after all it does tell you exactly where to go. Navtraffic would make it so much easier to figure which route is actually the shortest. If it is a 1 or 2 turn difference between direct and easy, will it just send you on direct, if the distance outweighs, or underweighs, the turns?
