Navigation Question

Mabe I'm missing something in the menu but I'd like to turn off the nag voice in my navi system. Is there a way to turn it off and still get the video map and directions and not have to listen to that female or male nag voice telling me what to do. It would be OK if they just said it once, but after hearing "turn left ahead...etc" over and over...I'm sick of it. thanks in advance

Go to the set up screen for the Nav and on the volume bar to the left hit OFF

If you do not want it always off by default, you can cancle the voice when you have a trip plan set up. I believe you have a 'Cancel Voice' button displayed on the Navi Screen (lower left) while you are viewing an active trip.

I think I am recalling correctly. But I have the Navi voice always on, but like you sometimes just want her to shut up. So I 'Cancel Voice' on any particular route and find my way in silence (or uninterrupted ELS)

wouldn't "cancel" cancel the current route? i wanted to do this as well coz i don't like my music volume lowering when the voice comes on but the best i could do is lower the volume just like rbf351 says. i have an 04 though, so they may have changed this in 05 and/or 06

More importantly, is there a voice command to bring you from the map screen to the audio screen? I find it odd that you can go to the map from the audio screen by saying "Map" but not the opposite.

i could've sworn this is possible try "display audio" coz those 4 buttons have voice commands linked to them

Even after you turn the audio all the way down, you still can get the most current audio guidance by pressing the audio button in the lower left corner.

Jet Jock,

I was wrong (yeah, I know...there is a first for everything).

I tried my suggestion above, but was incorrect. When you have a trip planned, there is a VOICE button on the lower left of the Navi screen. It does not let you cancel the voice,,,,it just repeats the last voice instruction.
It appears you have to disable to voice entirely in the Navi Setup....

1) Select SETUP Screen
2) Select Page 3
3) Select VOICE FEEDBACK to OFF

Otherwise the only thing that may work is to get married. Eventually you would learn to filter out the nagging female voice.

Thanks guys, I can't believe I missed the voice volume on the setup page. I must have seen that page hundreds of times but it never sank in my brain that I could turn it down.
