Navigation DVD

Does anyone know how to make a copy of the navigation DVD ? My brother and I both have TL's and thought that we can split the cost of a new DVD and just copy it ?

Any suggestions....

You'll need a DVD burner that can read and write the DVD+R9 (dual layer) format. The blanks are now available in stores. But even then, it may not work without proper duplication software as we don't know whether they put copy protection on the disc. To date, no one I know of has tried it.

I've got a dual layer burner... BestBuy has the blanks for $25 for 5... If I pick some up, I'll give it a try... After all, I should be allowed to back up my own DVDs right?

HECK... I even tried to get one on my last trip to the States.

(never got around to it...Dang....) was hoping to get the US version which would

cut out the damn French doo-dah we got stuck with on ours. I guess Acura

figures they have us over a barrel. Cripes... I just might order from the States

and pay the exchange. It would be cheaper than buying the same damn thing in

Canada and having to pay almost twice the price you gents and ladies pay south

of our border. Cut us a break ACURA. We bot the car, lets not make it too unafforadable to keep the technology current.

Canadian Price

$280 + tax or $322 in Ontario is quite steep. It includes shipping.

At today's exchange rates thats about 256.78 USD [exchange rate: 1.2540]

And the Canadian and US discs are identical.

i use to have an aftermarket alpine navi that was cd based and you could use cd-r's in it. so i assume that this system that uses dvd should be similar.
