navigation for canada

I travel to Canada on occasions. My Navigation system has maps, routes and locations in the Windsor and Toronto areas. I can not program a destination to Canada , but when I am in Canada , I can program a destination back to the states and have it route me. Is there a way I can program a destination to Canada?

I didn't have any problems programming destinations in Quebec and in the Ottawa area. If I want to program by address, the default state is currently set to "QC" (Quebec) because the last address I programmed was up there. Various hotels in Montreal are in the database as well.

Did you program your canadian destinations in Canada or the U.S.A.? When I tried to program a Windsor ,Ca. address in the Detroit area I could not get the navigation system to insert any destination except a State.

I,over the lunch hour, have solved the puzzle. When you select "address", the screen takes you to ,select a state. You have an option to use the arrow in the upper right o fthe screen that says "state". Instead, use the keyboard to select a Canadian province, then fill in the city , street and number. You now have the route to wherever you wanted to go. After I jotted this note, but before I sent it, I tried the above routine, but I used the arrow. In the list of states were the Canadian provinces. It looks like you can select the Canadian province by either method.

I never had problem crossing between borders&states. You just have to change two digit state letters when u do cross-state driving
