Navigation Breadcrumb

Hey guys, this may be a stupid question, i have the 06 tl w/nav. Every so often, my nav doesn't get me right and the system has me somewhere else than i actually am. No biggie... however, it leaves those stupid bread crumbs all over the map. does anyone know how to clear those off? they are starting to cover up the map. they don't clear themselves off, they are always there. any help would be appreciated. i see nothing about clearing off old breadcrumbs in the manual.

Had the same problem. What I was doing was starting the car and taking off before the navi got a chance to accurately get where I was at...so it would cut the corner of the street and take off though this field instead of tracking the road...then eventually snap into place about a 1/4 mile later. They went away when I disconnected the battery and left it off for about 20 minutes or so (when I was home at lunch one day) causing the Navi and such to reset. I would try that. I bet it will work. Just leave it off/unhooked for an hour or so when you are at lunch and hook it back up. Make sure you have the security codes for the Navi unit and Radio though....most likely on a white sticker on the side of your glovebox....but I dont know if they are all there or my dealer did that.

there's got to be a better way than that.. i don't want to constanly have to disconnect the battery because it happens at least one or twice a week. if there is truly no other way, then i would say, acrua really dropped the ball on this one and it's something they need to address.

I know what you are saying...but since I did reset....it hasnt happened since? I know...very odd....but it hasnt. I had to reset for my ProCats too....so not sure if it was the multiple resets or not....but it stopped happening?

I believe that if you go into the Navi's setup menu, find the option to track your off-road movements, and turn it off, it will erase your breadcrumbs. Then turn it back on after you check to see if that worked, assuming you want the breadcrumbs on, that is.

I am not certain this is the right procedure since the manual is in the car and that's at the dealer today, but I think it's what I saw.

Yep...you can turn em off in the setup menu....and they will disappear. They come back if you turn it back on though. Only way to get rid of em for good is reset.

thanks guys... i saw that in the manual, just wasn't sure if it would erase the previous bc or not. i will try that. personally, i don't need those things as with the tl, not exactly like i'm traveling off main roads too often.

speaking of breadcrumbs i was showing a freind the navi (that basically dosent work over here) and somehow the map screen came up and at first it just seemed like a bunch of breadcrumbs all over then i realized it made a breadcrumb map of the base and the road i take to work. i have no idea how i got it to show normally over here and anywhere i assume your not in the map data base area (outside us or canada) after the ok button is pressed on the nag screen it just sits there and wont go to map even if the button is pressed justthought i would share i thought it was interesting
