Navigation Background

How can I get my navigation background to be black like the one in the picture? Is there a setting?

You know the settings to the left of the steering wheel that changes the brightness of the dashboard? Click MAX and it should change the background color of the screen.

That's the "night" setting, which means the headlights are normally on to change the Navi's background.

I just looked up the Navi manual re: display modes out of curiosity: "Push and hold the joystick for 10 seconds (switches to Night)."

The owner's manual and Navi manual can be seen on-line through links at: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/j-020-3g-acura-tl-owners-manual-navi-manual-warranty-booklet-pdfs-851625/.

BTW, if you set the lighting to "Max," per ArthurL's post, the background will stay on the "day" setting and not switch to the night setting.

Welcome to AZ.

Hmmm I thought you could select Day or Night in the normal setting of the Nav sys rather then having to set the dash light to max.
