I have an 04 TL with NAVI and, as we all know, it offers very limited voice recognition. For example, you can't say the street name, you have to type it in.

The 2005 Honda Odyssey's NAVI on the other hand has very advanced voice recognition. This probably has been discussed already, but I can't find the answer to the question: does 2005 TL have the same enhanced voice recognition as the Odyssey?

And if the answer is "yes", is there a way to upgrade firmware and software on 2004 TL to get this capability?

If my memory is correct, 05 Ody is the 1st vehicle to use new Acura Navi voice recognition system by IBM. It's supposed to be BETTER and more accurate. Meanwhile, 05 Acura RL and 05 Acura MDX may have them, too.


05TL uses the same system as 04, which means the old model.

Will the IBM be in the 06s by any chance. And when the hell do those come out. We are buying in spring or summer so if the 06s are out then maybe I can get my father to spend the extra grand(isnt last years model msrp usually dropped 1k).
