Navi Update 3.8

Has anyone purchased this update for $149,and is it worth the cost.?

I have a 2006 TL, and wonder it the update is significantly different from the original disc.

Thanks for any input.

I purchased one, and it is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. I have only had my TL for 8 days now (also an 06), and live in an area where there has been a lot of new construction, (at least until the past 18 months or so), and am hoping for significant updates. Will post again after installed and I have had a chance to play with it.

if you are not signed up sign up, if you are then log in and go to online ordering and the 3.8 is 149$ right now got mine a week ago.

FYI

there are not mods available at this time other than the splash screen. So decide if having the addition features available from the mods, is worth trading for the few xtra POI's.

You can also get directly from NavTeq for same price. . .hmmm . . .just looked and the Acura link is gone and says Honda has to contact dealer. I ordered it Monday, and received my 3.8 disc yesterday. What's up with that?

I received mine yesterday, and I have to say my first impression is pretty good. I live in the Chicago burbs and in my area at least, the roads near me that were not on 3.5 are on 3.8. Early reviews from me at least are positive.

thanks

I like the update as well - it has many of the new roads in my area with the exception of my street! I moved into a new neighborhood in 2004 and my street has been complete since then. I figured the 2008 update would have it, but it doesn't. I wonder how they determine what makes the map and what doesn't?

I bit the bullet and purchased it. I wish I would have known sooner. I would have bought it earlier since I will be going out of town for the weekend. I will let you guys know how it is. Can't be worse than what I have since I'm still on the 2004 database.

Guys - Let us all know how the 3.8 version is. I'm currently on a 3.4 and some 20% of the streets are "unverified". Its really a pain to have a GPS and not the latest the disc

I need a new disc, but according to the website, Acura has never updated my area (2003-present)

$149 until July 31? You guys shouldn't complain. I just tried going through the Canadian site and its listed for $249! The upside though, it looks like I can still go to the US site and order it there for $149 and have it shipped to Canada for 30 bucks which, when converted to Cdn dollars is still cheaper than buying it here and getting taxed on top of the higher charge.

Man I just got this disk a few months ago.... I think every time I buy one the price drops a few months after.

I HATE ALPINE!!!! lol

I wish it was always this price because the other price is just nuts! They more than get their money back because they use the same darn maps for many other vehicales and its all module to them so they just import in the maps and data... than RAPE us!

that is ridiculous. also the way these updates work on disks is so primitive . im still relectant to get one because there are so many changes in my city. they have got to do something about that.
