Navi swap into a non-navi car w/XM Radio??

Hi guys,

after fumbling with the solenoid switch 3rd, 4th for a couple days, realized my car is 07 so no need to worry
It felt good anyways.

so I bought this car from a nice local gentleman who didn't need the navigation. But as much as I like to go on road trip, I want to use the stock navigation, not my suction cup unit.
(which isn't bad at all with FM traffic, but still. Nothing beats the stock unit, to me)

and before I go to ebay and buy the used navi unit, I got a few questions for you experts!

I'll number them so it's easier to read/answer.

1. Is it a simple "Bolt-off and bolt-on" ??

2. Car has XM Radio. If I swap out for a stock navi unit, can i get XM Traffic?

3. My prev. car 300C SRT had this crazy "in-motion" thing that disables 99% of navigation menu when car is moving 15+MPH, but the forum members came up with "in-motion hack" which pretty much disabled the safety feature. now,,,, what about 07 TL?

4. My prev. car, when I was playing music and navigation had something to say, it did two things
a) display the distance, name of street, and directional arrow on the instrument panel between tach and speedo.
(I guess for TL, it'd be below the speedo)
b) keeps on playing music in the car but uses driver's side front speaker to tell me directions
Does stock TL navi do this too??

5. Anything anybody wanna tell me about stock navi
i.e. the touch feeling, GPS reception and secondary positioning(using the car's G sensor and speedo to determine location when GPS signal is weak)

Any input is greatly appreciated!! even "DON'T DO IT!!" lol but give me a reason, if you'd like
Thank you all in advance

1. Is it a simple "Bolt-off and bolt-on" ??

Not simple. A lot of wiring and tapping into circuits involved

2. Car has XM Radio. If I swap out for a stock navi unit, can i get XM Traffic?

Only if you find a complete system for 07/08

3. My prev. car 300C SRT had this crazy "in-motion" thing that disables 99% of navigation menu when car is moving 15+MPH, but the forum members came up with "in-motion hack" which pretty much disabled the safety feature. now,,,, what about 07 TL?

Not on my TL

4. My prev. car, when I was playing music and navigation had something to say, it did two things
a) display the distance, name of street, and directional arrow on the instrument panel between tach and speedo.
(I guess for TL, it'd be below the speedo)

No

b) keeps on playing music in the car but uses driver's side front speaker to tell me directions
Does stock TL navi do this too??

Yes

5. Anything anybody wanna tell me about stock navi
i.e. the touch feeling, GPS reception and secondary positioning(using the car's G sensor and speedo to determine location when GPS signal is weak)

It's cool for a while. Definitely ups the interior look but the function is old looking

Very interested in this. If I could install a OEM navigation afterwards that would drastically open up my search for cars. I been trying to find a 04-06 with 6spd and navi. What a pita!!!!

It would probably be easier to just get a aftermarket double din with nav and xm. Most people including myself wouldn't dare mess up the stock look though
