navi screen video input standalone?

guys,

i got a navi screen by itself from ebay and i want to run my pioneer to the navi screen.

i cant find the pinouts to the rear of the navi screen!!!

has anyone pulled off running the oem navi screen by itself without the rest of the navi system?

are some of the pins in the back Vin+ Vin- that i can hook up a RCA input to it?

You didn't happen to buy the one that was up for 100 buyout / 15 shipping the other day, did you?

Well in any case, assuming you did buy that 3GTL nav screen, I must preface this with I Hate You. I also thank you, because I did need that for my nav conversion but I have decided to go a different route .

I have already looked into that panel and it uses RGB/sync inputs, not just regular composite you would get from the pioneer. This is also not to be confused with component you would see on your TV which is RGBsB which has the sync on the green connector.

The pins you would need are on Connector E which is 22pin. You can count the pins from top left (1) to top right (10) and bottom left (11) to bottom right (22)
Pin 1: Red signal
Pin 2: Green signal
Pin 3: Color signal ground
Pin 11: Blue signal
Pin 12: Composite sync (required to keep the picture from bouncing all over the place)
Pin 13: Ground for the preceding pins' shield - not required if you're hooking them direct in without a long run to the source.

I don't have any experience with the DOMs unit or whatever people use to get video into their nav screens, but I assume if you had the pinouts from that you could use it. I also found this: http://www.converters.tv/products/pal_to_rgb/236.html
That is essentially the same thing and allows you to convert to what you need.

Also I do believe the 14Pin connector is the same whether you have Nav or not, I would make sure the screen works before you go crazy. The one I picked up has a bad backlight. You can power it up by energizing pins:
5: Accessory/switched
6: Constant/battery
and ground pin 1

Count them the same as the other connector. I'm actually curious as to the result, I was able to see my screen energize but no backlight came on - I might just be missing something else to get it to pop on and my screen might be good.

thanx for the info
i didnt get the one you were bidding on.
i actually plugged it into my non navi display harness for shits and giggles yesterday and blew out my fuse lol
i gotta run the pins manually and see if the thing even works.

as for the backlight, there might be a pin for interior lighting (matching the brightness to the dash) if that has no power then the screen would probably be dark.
see if there is a pin like that on the harness.
