Question Navi Screen Protector

I noticed that I've been using the NAVI alot by using the touch screen alot.
I still have the plastic protective thing-a-majig on it from the factory but I know in time that will peel off.

I was wondering if we can use the PDA Protective Screen material on it to protect the screen.
If so, does anybody know a site where they would sell a larger piece of the protective material so I can cut it to fit the nav screen??
Or is there one already available for the 04-05 TL Navi??

Thanks~~

Do a search - it was discussed a while ago. I think people came to the conclusion that it really isn't necessary.

i also J&J earbuds to tap instead of (oily) fingers....

it works ok, though it does create some glaze on the screen during daytime.

I too, just ordered one for my TL.... The first screen said it came with 2? But the order screen seemed to indicate only one... Either way, we'll see when it gets here.

I also ordered the product from NuShield and received it a few days ago. I installed it last night. Today was my first day using it. and I think that I am going to remove it.

It does not seem to hinder the touch screen usage at all, and you can see somewhat clearly through the plastic...however there is a glare, and its too much of a hinderance to me. I was sitting in the parking lot during lunch, and I couldn't read my screen at all except for the edges which were shadowed from the sun. I wanted to check if it was the NuShield or just the sun making it hard to read, so I removed the NuShield, and I could see fine. Sure there was still sun on screen, but I was able to read the screen fine.

So I think I am dropping the NuShield. But there KleenScreen cleaners work great!!

Hey Adam,
You may want to make sure you removed the light blue protective film from the NuShield before you installed it. Its barely visible but if you forgot to remove it this could defintely cause the screen to be hard to read. Mine is just fine.. Clear as day except for my greasy finger prints.

No I removed it. And I can read the screen fine under normal conditions, but when sunlight hits the screen there is a glare on it that makes the navi screen worthless. If I take the NuShield off, I can see fine and there is a much smaller glare (which doesn't affect viewing)

I use it. I've had my car for 8+ mos and I'm still on my first one ( I bought 3). It adds a little glare under certain conditions, but it's worth it.

Jastor,

Is the one from Strong Engineering hard plastic or soft plastic? The NuShield one is hard plastic (yes it bends, but its a lot harder then the soft one I have on my cell phone).

Definitely harder than the stuff you'd put on a pda or cell phone. The other big difference is there's only adhesive around the edge of the cover. That's what keeps it from looking distorted like a pda cover.
